| Uncovered load | $10Loads must be securely covered — completely enclosed by a solid barrier to prevent debris from blowing, spilling, or falling. Acceptable coverings are tarps, mesh or netting with openings no larger than 1/4 inch, manufacturer-designed load covers, or adequately secured heavy flat objects such as mattresses or plywood. The fee applies to loads that are uncovered, have items falling into roads, have items stacked over the trailer sides, or have items placed on straps or tarps. Higher fines or additional penalties may apply to repeat offenders. |
