Special handle refuse$172.50/TONIncludes agricultural plastics, large non-recyclable metal items, rancid waste, dead animals, waste requiring supervised burial, and any waste requiring special handling as determined by facility staff. Also applies to wood waste loads containing dirt, refuse, or pieces over 8 feet long or 4 feet in diameter. Dead animals should be delivered between 9:00 AM and 2:30 PM and must be double bagged. $45.25 minimum charge.
Treated wood waste (TWW)$105.50/TONMust be declared and documented, and is charged at the garbage rate. Declare at the Scale House, pre-sort and segregate from all other material before arrival, and hand unload into the designated TWW bin, then return to the Scale House to complete payment. Mechanical dumping is prohibited unless authorized by County staff. Santa Cruz County addresses only, including unincorporated areas and Capitola, Scotts Valley, Santa Cruz, and Watsonville. Mixed or unsegregated loads may be rejected. $31.50 minimum charge.
